Mayco SW-187 Himalayan Salt, when fired at around 1240°C, produces a glossy surface with speckles in pink and orange tones. At higher temperatures, the expression changes, and the glaze takes on a more gray character with plays of orange and violet shades that add depth to the surface.
The glaze has been developed for stoneware and can be used within the temperature range 1200-1300°C. The end result is affected by, among other things, the type of clay, application, number of layers and firing program. For best results, it is recommended to test the glaze on test pieces before use on finished works. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for firing and temperature.
Follow the manufacturer's instructions and use normal precautions when handling glazes.
