Mayco SW-140 Black Matte gives a matt black appearance when fired at around 1240°C. At higher temperatures in reduction firing, the glaze may develop a slight bluish tinge in the surface.
The glaze is part of the Mayco Stoneware range and is developed for use within the temperature range 1200-1300 °C, both in oxidation and reduction. The end result will vary depending on clay type, application, layer thickness and firing curve. It is recommended to test the glaze on test pieces before use on finished works.
