Mayco SW- Magma is a texture glaze developed to create a rough surface with distinct crater-like forms. How pronounced the texture becomes depends largely on how thickly the glaze is applied. A thin layer provides a more subdued appearance with a surface that may resemble sandpaper, while thicker application creates more depth and clearer craters.
The glaze can be used directly on raw fired goods or combined with other glazes within the same temperature range for varied expressions. The result is affected by clay type, application, layer thickness and firing. For the best possible control, it is recommended to test the glaze on test pieces before use on finished works.
